SRINAGAR, KASHMIR — In a landmark convergence of clinical expertise and public advocacy, Ujala Cygnus Amandeep Hospitals and the Press Club of Kashmir have formally established a strategic healthcare alliance on World Health Day, aimed at dismantling barriers to medical access and enhancing regional health literacy.
During an executive briefing at the Press Club, President M. Saleem Pandit and Dr. Parvez Sofi, Managing Director of Ujala Cygnus Nowgam, unveiled a multi-tiered partnership that positions the media fraternity as a vital frontline partner in addressing the region’s current health challenges.
At the same event, Dr. Parvez Sofi announced a state-of-the-art Cancer Centre specifically designed for the Kashmir region, representing a critical intervention in the escalating local oncology burden.
In recognition of the media’s indispensable role in public welfare, Ujala Cygnus Amandeep Hospitals also announced a comprehensive welfare package for journalists and their primary dependents. This includes complimentary Outpatient Department (OPD) services and the extension of Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) rates for advanced treatments.
This initiative reflects an integrated approach to community resilience, ensuring that while the media fraternity drives vital health awareness to every household, their own medical security—and that of their families—is supported by quality institutional care.
