Srinagar, September 12: The Press Information Bureau (PIB), Srinagar Region, is organising a media tour to Chennai for a 13-member delegation of journalists from Srinagar from September 13 to 19, 2026, as part of its ongoing media outreach initiatives.
The delegation includes Binyamin Shora, Managing Editor of Daily Roshni, along with other journalists from Srinagar, and PIB officials. The week-long visit is aimed at providing journalists with firsthand exposure to key Central Government institutions, projects and initiatives in Chennai.
Prior to the departure, Director, PIB Srinagar, Qazi Salman, briefed the delegation about the objectives of the visit and urged the participating journalists to make meaningful use of the interactions and engagements scheduled during the tour.
The delegation is being led by Shahid Lone, Field Publicity Officer, CBC Anantnag, who is serving as the Conducting Officer. Ifham Ul Islam, Information Assistant, PIB Srinagar, is also accompanying the delegation.
During the visit, the journalists will visit various Central Government establishments and projects in Chennai and interact with senior officials to gain firsthand understanding of their functioning, operations and implementation of government policies and initiatives.
The tour is expected to provide the participating journalists an opportunity to understand national-level policies and their implementation on the ground, besides facilitating professional interaction with officials and institutions.
Director PIB Srinagar, Qazi Salman, congratulated the participating journalists and expressed confidence that the visit would contribute towards greater understanding of the functioning of Central Government institutions and strengthen media outreach.
